On Siren Stories, “award winning UK based independent entertainment business” the Lilly Prospero Series by author JJ Barnes receives a re-edit and new cover design for its rerelease.

The Lilly Prospero Series by JJ Barnes launched the Siren Stories Universe back in 2016, a shared Universe now encompassing numerous novels and a feature film.

As the company has grown and available resources have improved, Lilly Prospero And The Magic Rabbit and Lilly Prospero And The Mermaid’s Curse had a full re-edit and redesign.

Mermaids are being pulled from the sea and harvested for their body parts to sell on the magical black market, so Lilly and Saffron team up with a coven of mysterious elderly witches to stop him. But soon, they discover the issue is more complicated than they ever realised, and they must risk the lives of both themselves and everyone around them if they have any chance of saving the mermaids.

JJ Barnes says, “When we originally created our company, Siren Stories, we were full of hopes and dreams, but not a lot of experience. Lilly Prospero And The Magic Rabbit launched the shared Universe we intended to stretch across mediums and authors one day, but we were still very small. It was just us and our plans.

Now, in 2022, we have released books by a range of authors, and released a feature film, all set in our Augmented Universe. Our team is bigger and more experienced, and that meant it was time to go back to the beginnings and get everything to our new standard.

The re-edit and redesign of the Lilly Prospero Series was a big deal for me. These are characters I worked on, dreamed about, developed, and wrote for a decade before we finally published. I was so young when I first created Lilly, Jeffrey, Saffron and the rest, and it felt like going back to that young woman full of dreams and giving her the chance to grow up.

I’ve never stopped being incredibly proud of my first book, and it’s had such wonderful feedback, but now I feel more confident in sharing it with the world. The story hasn’t changed, the characters are still the people I first created all those years ago, but the delivery is that bit smoother. It should be a more enjoyable experience for my readers, and will hopefully make some teenagers fall in love with reading like so many stories did for me.”

Siren Stories is a Staffordshire based independent production company and entertainment agency, established in 2016.

Our first release was the YA novel Lilly Propero And The Magic Rabbit by JJ Barnes. Since then, we have gone on to release multiple novels, produce music from a variety of artists, release YouTube videos, and our first feature film, Hollowhood, was released in October 2021.

All our stories are set in the SSU, the Siren Stories Universe, and are woven together and interconnected across all the stories.
